Anthony Sanfilippo (Tony) brings over 40 years of leadership experience in the financial services industry, with a strong focus on investment banking, market making, and financial technology. He currently serves as the CEO of finEngine Inc., a financial technology company that provides advanced data analytics solutions to broker-dealers and investment managers. Tony’s extensive background in managing investment banks and large-scale market-making operations enables him to help clients leverage the finEngine platform for informed decision-making and business optimization.
Prior to his current role, Tony was a principal at Seppala Financial, where he provided advisory services to early-stage financial technology initiatives. His previous leadership positions include serving as President of Rodman & Renshaw following its merger with Hudson Holding Corporation, where he was CEO. He was recruited to Hudson from Etico Capital, a boutique merchant bank he co-founded. Tony also served as Head of U.S. Equity Trading at Jefferies & Co., where he returned after an earlier tenure in the firm’s Chicago office.
Earlier in his career, Tony was President and CEO of Knight Capital Markets and Interim CEO of Knight Trading Group, where he oversaw global equities operations across the U.S., Europe, and Japan. He initially joined Knight after its acquisition of Tradetech Securities, a Nasdaq Intermarket trading company he founded in 1993. Additionally, he served as Executive Vice President at Mesirow Financial, where he led the equity trading division and regional specialist operations.
Tony has held several prominent industry leadership roles, including Director of the National Organization of Investment Professionals (NOIP) and Governor of the Security Traders Association (STA). He is a past President of the Security Traders Association of Chicago and chaired the District 8 Business Conduct Committee (DBCC) of NASD Regulation Inc. He also served on the SIA Trading Committee and the boards of Nasdaq Europe and Knight Trading Group.
Tony earned a degree in Finance from DePaul University, graduating summa cum laude.
